Karlin Roos and Holger Oosthuizen are the founders of Clarens Stargazing Tours and the creative minds behind Celestial Point Shunyata. Together they share a passion for exploring the meeting place between art, astronomy, nature, and human consciousness.

Karlin, the artist behind the Dance of the Sun and Moon – Menyakwe ya Letsatsi le Kgwedi, crafts reflection, light, and the patterns of the cosmos for moments of quiet contemplation to discover meaning through light, shadow by bringing the heavens to earth and the observer into the sky. Karlin, together with Holger – who fabricated the installation – have spent years sharing the night sky with visitors through astronomy and storytelling. Their fascination of the heavens, ancient cultures, and humanity’s place in the cosmos helped craft the vision of this work.

Created for the Clarens Festival of Lights 2026, Dance of the Sun and Moon – Menyakwe ya Letsatsi le Kgwedi, encompasses the festival’s theme of Reflections. When you stand inside the circle, you become part of the artwork—reflecting on the sky above, the earth below, and your place within the unfolding story of the universe.
